May 15th -
The 2nd Eleven travelled to Felixstowe on a cloudy day and the Home Captain won the toss and decided to bat on a greenish deck . Russell Davis ( 2-27) and Martyn Wilkins (0-11) soon found plenty of swing and seam movement with the new ball and Felixstowe struggled to 42-2 at the halfway stage . D.Bennett and J.Green then took on the change bowlers and took the score to 106 before Dan Webb ( 4-18) struck to remove Bennett . Green completed a hard hit 50 before he was well held by Sam Hartshorn off Neil Winter (2-28) . The final total of 137-8 wickets was not as many as looked possible but good bowling by all bowlers restricted the home side .
Neil Winter ( 32) and Sam Hartshorn ( 21) started in aggressive manner and added 43 runs very quickly before Hartshorn was bowled . Phil Jones ( 29) joined Neil and again played aggressively including a reverse sweeped four off the young Parker . Although a couple of cheap wickets fell the total was reached in the 23rd Over for five wickets with Steve Taylor ( 21 not out ) and Jason Ketteridge (5 not out ) at the crease .
So 6 bowlers used and 7 batsman had a knock with a useful 19 points gained , we maintain our unbeaten start to the Season .
