The 1st's played host to league leaders Maldon and were beaten in closely fought contest.
Batting first we got 194 for 9, which was under par by about 30/40. We had a good start Godders + Webby putting on 70 in 16 overs but failed to go on from there. As you all know i'm never short of an opinion and our weakness is that we do not score enough singles, we either get nothing or a boundary. If you look in to most matches the team that scores the most singles wins the game. We leave too many deliveries or we do not rotate as much as we should. Anyway back to the game we struggled on with small contributions from Delboy, Jessie + Ealham.
Silvers dismissed their best bat early and Youngsy got one aswell. When the visitors were reduced to 140 for 7 perhaps we should have won. Fair play to them they are not top for no reason and got the target with a couple of overs remaining. In the end a bit disapointing but as i have said before if you are not positive in this league you will get beaten more often than not.
Anyway we were all cheered up by JW singing to his good lady at her 40th birthday party.............X FACTOR CALLING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
