| East Bergholt - Away |

The first's were away for the third week running and their unbeaten run came to a crashing end at Bergholt.
On a glorious day the home side won the toss and choose to bat, amassing a huge 361 for 4 from their 45 overs. Dougie Frame made 153 and two others passed half centuries. All bowlers toiled away but some of the figures cannot released as this is a family website.
The reply started ok but Webby (15) was trapped infront and then Wince (20) who looked in good touch got bowled off his pads. Powelly went without troubling the scorers and Godders made just 5. DP hit a couple of big shots before losing his wicket but Delboy was enjoying himself and spanked a season's best 93 including 4 sixes, it did cross my mind while he was batting that he could get 180 not out and still lose. Jessie scored 35 and with Ealham (24) put on their 4th 50 stand of the season. The tail didn't wag this week so we were all out for 232.
It was a massive defeat and probably bought us back down to earth a touch. It just shows there are no weak sides in this league and every game is as difficult as the one before.
Next week we finally get back to the Manor and we welcome league leaders Maldon. This will be an interesting game and if we really come to the party we may, just may cause a little upset.
