| Brockley - Away |
 |
The 1st's were away again but fortunately only the short journey to Brockley. We won the toss and asked the hosts to bat and they scored a more than respectable 193 for 6. There was early success for Ealham butgood knocks by Joe Reed & Ryan Atkinson put Brockley back in the game. Crouchy hit 60 not out as well. The sheriff bowled tightly only going for 46 off his 15 overs. Youngsy claimed three wickets and DP got one. There were plenty of rain breaks but it looked like it was going to be a competitive score. A very decent tea followed and that may have some effect on our batting. From a good position of 54 for 1 we slumped to 79 for 6. Webby's 42 was a fine knock but no one else got into double figures. Old Man Younsgy joined DP and their partnership of 91 in 18 overs swung the game back in the visitors favour. Dan was eventually out for a match winning 71. This was a fine knock off the back of last week's 50. Youngs junior joined Pops in the middle and Luke made it looked comfortable to take us to a 3 wicket win. Senior 35 no Junior 18 no. So 3 wins on the trot and we are now in the upper reaches of the league. What we have to realise as a team is that some times decisions go against you, but its only a game and we should treat it as such. Some of our behaviour when we are out is not the greatest and respect to other teams grounds should be paramount when we visit. In my opinion Joe (Reed) had a poor decision but did not complain, sometimes its the way it goes. A little more faith in other players as well would not go a miss. We are a decent side with decent players 1 to 11.
