The first's travelled to Hadleigh for a game between two mid-table sides. Hadleigh always seem to be a thorn in our side and beat us more often than not. Anyway Delboy lost the toss and we were asked to bat. Webby went for a duck and a mix up between Godders & Wince saw Godders run out. When the skipper followed soon after and Wincey out for a decent 42 we were 80 for 4 half way through. Enter DP he likes this ground and despatched two big sixes on his way to a welcome half century. His stand of 70 odd with Dan 'Jessie Ryder' Wilkins put the visitors back in with a shout. All the years Wilks has played for the club and now he is starting to produce at very critical times, what has changed ????(well done Jessie) With 8 overs remaining Youngsy strolled in and at the end he had smashed his way to his 3rd fifty of the season. 221 for 8 at the close.....not bad !!!! A friday phone call between skip & vice had decided Ealham (the fat Andrew Caddick) would open the bowling hoping for a change of fortune. This worked a treat as Youngsy returned season's best of 15-4-41-4 and Stu who came on first change 15-1-51-3. Although we didn't bowl them out they were restricted to just 167 for 8. The sheriff claimed the other victim. The fielding wasn't too bad this week and Knotty (Luke) claimed a couple of catches and a stumping to enhance his growing reputation behind the sticks. Two wins on the bounce and a local derby to look forward to against Brockley this week, long may it continue !!!!!!!!!!!!
