 Eight Ash Green - Away
THEY THINK IT'S ALL OVER, IT IS NOW!

The final destination this season was the pleasantly appointed Eight Ash Green and backed by our very own 'GREEN' army everyone knew what was needed for the championship. However, as on many occasions this year our batting was a mixture of poor and very poor and this combined with a couple of dubious LBW's from the home umpire saw us disintregrate to 80 odd for 8.The 'Green' Army had gone quiet, the team had gone quiet and Phil Jones had gone for a pint in the pub across the road.
I was at the crease with Dan Webb and with just Joey to come feared we had failed at the last hurdle.Much nudging and nerdling interspersed with the odd boundary saw the last two wickets put on 50 odd and get us to 135.
Spirits were low at teatime, Micky refused cake,Victor was chewing wasps and Greg's mood was not improved on learning Adebeyor had scored against his beloved Arsenal.
One last rousing team talk was needed from the skipper, one last big effort boys. Micky took an early wicket then broke down with another injury resigning him to an afternoon in the slips.
At 50-1, it was looking grim but Joey took a couple in as many balls and things perked up. Everyone knew if we took 8 wickets we would secure the title and cometh the hour cometh the man and Martyn returned for his second spell and in the space of 4 overs produced a stunning 4 wicket burst. Joey took a classic one hander and when Jason clasped the catch for the eighth wicket, the party started!
Milhouse took the final two wickets including another one hander at slip by the wounded Rinaldi.
I had the pleasure of leading off the victorious 'eleven' in front of the adoring 'Green' Army and a nice touch of free beer from the opposing skipper awaited us in the changing room.
So thats it from me, their is a huge list of people to thank for their help throughout the season but I'm 'welling up' now so thanks to all.
Victor 49 Milhouse 46 was the final result, well done to both.
See you all at the presentation on 31st October.
