SUN,FUN AND NEARLY A TON BUT JOB DONE. Greg went on holiday last week with a group of women.Sounds like heaven and he showed great commitment by driving back from the Devon/Cornwell border on Saturday morning to be available for the game.He fell 5 short of a deserved century as he and the evergreen Jones milked the Dedham bowling.Mickey stuck a couple in the river in a quick fire half century and their was even time for young Ben W.to enjoy a little cameo in front of his nail chewing but proud mum and dad.The next generation 'Wilkins' kept up the tradition of leaving the field with a 'Not Out' next to his name and there's many more to come in the future I'm sure. Very little to moan about this week but me and Phil were a little bit disheartened at our age to be chasing the ball on a couple of occasions when younger legs appeared to be in the vicinity. This was soon forgotten as I able to introduce into the bowling attack our secret weapon.Having gone through an extensive net session at Lords under the guidance of Alvin Kallicharan at the beginning of the season I have been keeping under wraps the lean and mean quickie but 5 overs of good 'gas' shows some potential and young Taylor seemed to enjoy the experience.Martyn took 4 and Milhouse 2 as a 160 odd run victory was secured. I will leave Greg to tell you of his vacation with a 'gaggle' of females but reports suggest he was seen prowling the garden, shaking his head and clutching a bottle of 'Bud' on more than one occasion.Happy holidays. |
