TOM'LL 'FIX IT'
A white haired,shell suit wearing old DJ with the name of Saville used to bring youngsters dreams come true on his TV show on Saturday evenings.
This Saturday evening a 15 year old with the same surname certainly 'FIXED IT' for Haverhill Seconds to maintain their challenge for promotion with a top six wicket haul.
The day didn't start well as directions were given to all before departure, I left last, went via the petrol station and still arrived first.Whether it was the many ways we got to the ground or not but our bowling and fielding, with one notable exception, lacked any direction at all. I cannot understand the general malaise in our fielding displays for a team challenging at the top end of the division but Tom certainly brightened my day with ten overs of excellent left arm swing bowling restricting the damage to 207.
Steve T. 'blobbed' but a half century from the 'wily' Jones(he keeps on doing it) and a well constructed 40 odd from Sam H put us in with a shout.We kept up a good tempo and won by 4 wickets with 6 overs to spare and good job we did as less than 5 minutes after finishing it absolutely dumped down.
I have sent a letter to Jimmy this week to fix me up with some Sat Nav's for the drivers and 11 rockets so I can stick them up various orifices before we go out to field. |
