 General Information

Kelveden & Feering III - Away
GREAT FIGHTBACK BUT NO CIGAR.

We lost, our fielding was shocking and for the top order, it was a horror show.
Negatives out of the way and this rollercoaster of a game saw us fall short by just 2 runs.
After the Kelvedon openers put on 80 odd, Milhouse twirled away from one end and 15 top overs saw him get 4 wickets, which included a sharp stumping from Alex Archer, who looks a natural.
During our very average fielding display, albeit on a bed of uneven concrete, I can clearly see why Rail Express are going bankrupt as train after train flashed by on the nearby main London line and all lacked one thing, PASSENGERS!
Joey took a couple of wickets and 186-8 didn't seem too bad at tea, which was excellent, ask Alex, he had 3 plates of pasta to my knowledge.
7 overs after tea we were 21-5, the only plus side of this is plenty of available umpires, although some still manage to avoid this job.
The seventh wicket fell at 50 and an early finish was on the cards but one thing Martyn doesn't do is give his wicket away without a fight and when he was joined by Joey(batting average 1.5 this season) a partnership of 120 between the pair was so close to getting us over the line.Joey got his deserved half century before perishing and despite Martyn's best efforts to steer us home we came up just short.
Martyn was out on his feet and blowing out of all holes and was actually blaming himself for the defeat by missing out on a couple of bad balls.Trust me, there is a big queue ahead of you who didn't perform.
As Steve Redgrave once said 'If you ever see me go near a boat again, you can shoot me'. This applies to yours truly and cricket next season and if you check ebay about mid September you will see my stuff going to the highest bidder.
