Having sat through the endless 'sick' Wacko Jacko children jokes in the dressing room prior to the match I will not be making any reference to these in my report but spare a thought for all those dyslexic kids this Christmas who are mourning the death of Setanta! Sticky and Muggy overhead conditions and a little bit of rain in the air prompted me to insert the opposition but we(Jason actually) dropped the opposing skipper off the first ball of the game resulting in an opening stand of 108. Nurul bowled steadily without a breakthrough and I was contemplating a bowl myself but I've always disliked bowling against lefties so threw the ball to wiley off spinner Jones and he duly took a couple of scalps in a lengthy 5 over spell. Dan Webb confounded Martyn by taking another 3 wickets but did turn one again this week.Limiting them to 190 was a good effort after their start and when it was our turn to bat Steve T and Jonesy started off like they had a bus to catch as the ball was going to all parts.Carl and Sam carried on the good work and Jason strode to the wicket with 20 odd needed and strode back 2 overs later job done and a 6 wicket win. We have completed the first half of our fixtures and the mid season report of 10 from 11 is top notch.Keep it going boys as being top at half way wins you nothing but heartbreak if we don't maintain standards in the second half of the season. Martyn tells me his favourite MJ track is 'Ben' but I'll have to wait for Elton J to die before 'Daniel' becomes my choice.
