MILDEN   v   HAVERHILL SUNDAY 2ND XI

Haverhill were put in on a badly prepared inconsistently bouncing and green wicket at Milden. Despite this some very good early order batting from Paul Sullivan 46, followed by support from Carl Bradford, Paul Spurling, Asif Javeed Anthony Phillips got Haverhill to a total of 189 for 9. A very slow over rate meant three hours were taken to bowl 40 overs.
Milden showed patches of resistance but only two batsman got scores of 20 or more. Ever dependable bowler Steve Saville had wonderful figures of 5 for 23 from 10 overs. Ably supported by sons Tom and David Saville plus a great spell from Steve Fox and the spin of Anthony Phillips meant Haverhill had Milden all out for 131 in 35 overs. This was also a very close game against the clock as the match finished in poor light at 7:30pm.
