Haverhill had many of the usual side unavailable for this vital top of the table game against Sudbury. Those that stepped in to help performed superbly with both bat and ball. Haverhill batted first and had to deal with pace, swing, seam and considerable turn on what had previously looked like a perfect batting track. Sam Harsthorn went with the score on 35 meaning Adam Dellar joined opener Dave Godwin for a great partnership of 103, Godwin eventually bowled for a fine 61. Paul Spirling joined Dellar and the two put on 33 before Dellar was L.B.W. for a very fine 64. Paul Spurling and Graham Brandejs put on 17 in the last two overs to get the total to193 for 4. Haverhill opening bowlers Steve Fox and Fahad Masood did a great job of containment, their opening 12 over spell costing only 35 and getting two wickets. A beautifully controlled six over spell from Adam Dellar getting 4 for 18 helped Haverhill win by 27 runs and meaning also that Haverhill stay top of Div.5 in the Hunts County bats Suffolk league.
