In only the third over Haverhill were in trouble when Adrian Wigan dragged the ball onto his stumps from well outside off stump. Soon to follow was fellow opener Phil Dingley caught trying to hit the ball over the top. Liam Savage and Dan Poole were together for a brief partnership before Liam also departed.

It took good innings full of concentration from Dan Poole and Carl Bradford to increase the run rate and stop the steady loss of wickets . Poole departed for 38 and Carl Bradford went onto make a stylish 54 . Other later wickets fell cheaply , apart from a sensible knock of 21 from Joe Woodley and Haverhill were bowled out with two overs to go with the score on 171, at least 30 runs short of what should have been possible on this wicket.

Tuddenham started their reply slowly , due to some fine accurate bowling from Russell Davis and Dan Poole. Russell Davis bravely continuing to bowl from a much reduced run up after injuring his ankle in his second over.

After 14 overs the score was only on 28 and three wickets had fallen . This meant the arrival at the crease of David Cross and Kevin Poole who had a fine partnership of 78 . Cross eventually went for 51 , Poole for 32 and Debling for 41. The last six overs were very tight with Joe Woodley bowling at full steam, producing two wickets with consecutive deliveries .

The failure by Haverhill to get at least 30 more runs on the board meant that it was just beyond them to contain Tuddenham , who achieved the required total with two overs to spare with three wickets left.
