BOWLERS SET UP WIN NUMBER THREE.
Haverhill Seconds entertained Felixstowe at Manor Road on a glorious afternoon and with the pitch looking good the visiting captain won the toss and decided to bat.
Russell Davis got the break through in his first over when Jon Watkins took a sharp catch behind.

A period of consolidation by the Felixstowe batsmen against some very accurate bowling backed up by sharp fielding by Haverhill saw the score at 50-1 after 20 overs.
A dramatic turnaround then ensued when Martyn Wilkins (4-8 off 11 overs) and Dan Webb (3-8 off 10 overs) bowled superbly in tandem and completely dried the runs up and ripped the heart out of the Felixstowe middle order to reduce the visitors to 77 All Out.
The Haverhill reply saw Steve Taylor go early but a hard hitting 38 from Carl Bradford brought the home side in sight of victory and it was left to the young and the not quite so young in Luke Youngs (18no) and Phil Jones (11no) to see Haverhill to victory by 8 wickets.
Skipper Julian Poole said '
Martyn and Dan take the plaudits today for their excellent figures but special mentions to Russell Davis and Josh Meekings who also bowled with great accuracy on what was a very good batting pitch. A mark of how far we have come this season will be tested with a visit to a strong Kesgrave team this week' |
