With great concentration and little more than half chances given by either batsman they amassed an opening partnership of 126 runs before Carl Bradford was lbw to bowler Moriarty . This proved to be the only sizable partnership of the innings with wickets falling regularly from then on . Adrian Wigan eventually fell to a catch by Hodge off the bowling of Moriarty for a magnificent 104. The innings was all over for 210 , with Moriarty taking 8 wickets for 38 of 9.3 overs. Haverhill went about the task on the field with determination and great all round teamwork. Opening bowlers Dan Poole and Russell Davis bowled very tightly for their opening spell . A change of bowling for the middle of the match had Joe Woodley and Steve Saville toiling in the heat for ten overs apiece , with some dominance from the middle order pairing of Roberts and Atkinson but also with the rewards of four wickets . The last eight overs saw a required run rate of ten per over .The game was finely balanced especially as the Atkinson brothers were beginning to hit the ball to all parts of the ground. The opening bowlers Poole and Davis were hit hard in the first six of those overs as the visitors tried to hit everything out of the ground . The final two overs were magnificent , with only eleven required from twelve balls and the advantage definitely with the visitors , Russell Davis took two wickets , Dan Poole another one which turned the game back to H |
