Ipswich won the toss and elected to bat on a very firm but green looking pitch.

The opening attack of Nurul Hoque (2-9) and Josh Meekings (1-9) caused the home sides batsmen all sorts of trouble and reduced them to 20-3 off 12 overs. Martyn Wilkins (5-17) was introduced and produced alot of seam movement together with swing making him almost unplayable and he ripped the heart out of the Ipswich Innings.

Young Sam Hartshorn having his first bowl for the club also bowled well but without much luck and it was left to Joey Kettle and Dan Webb to takea wicket each to see the home side bowled out for just 48 in 25 overs.

Haverhills batsmen had a slight hiccup in their reply when they were reduced to 18-3 but opener Luke Youngs (19no) was joined by Julian Poole (16no) and the pair saw the visitors home in just 12overs.

Skipper Poole said 'The bowlers did their job today and Martyn showed all his experience on how to bowl on a helpful pitch.Lets hope we can make it 3 wins out of 3 when we travel to Coggeshall this week"
