Haverhill elected to field and the opening attack of Nurul Hoque and Russell Davis bowled with accuracy but the first wicket didn't fall until 14th over when Luke Youngs took a sharp catch off Davis. Martyn Wilkins was introduced along with Dan Webb and Wilkins soon bowled the other opener.

Sudbury consolidated but Webb took 2 quick wickets including the dangerous Holness and togethera smart run out thisleft the home side on 108-5 with 10 overs left. Hoque returned to take a couple of wickets and the home side finished on 149-7.

Phil Jones(38) and Carl Bradford(48) opened the Haverhill innings positively and an excellent stand of 92 saw the visitors in the driving seat.

However, 3 quick wickets fell and Wilkins and Paul Sullivan had to consolidate against some very tight bowling but when Sullivan was well caught, Haverhill were still 35 short of the target.

Julian Poole joined Wilkins and the pair saw Haverhill home with just 10 balls to spare with Poole finishing the match with a couple of sixes to secure a 6 wicket victory.

Skipper Poole said 'Never been so cold playing cricket but it warmed the heart to get the win. A good all round performance from the players and look forward to another positive result at Ipswich this week'
