Woolpit batted first and looked fairly comfortable until Russell Davis had opener Whyatt (5) caught backward square by skipper Hoque and then went on to clean up the other opener Artingdale for 12. However the tide soon turned as a spell of wayward bowling from the homeside let Woolpit off the hook and runs started to come easy and quickly. At one stage a score of 300 would not have been out of reach. Paul Turner eventually broke through trapping Whiteman lbw for 29 but the wayward bowling and runs did not stop there. Kieron Bailey and Dan Webb slowed the scoring down for a short period but six an over was still being posted. Eventually, after some great work in the field by Dan Poole, man of the moment Goodenough was run out for 102, unfortunately the damage had been done at this point and the scene was set for a final ten over blast from the Woolpit middle order of which they duly obliged with Greenbank (30) and Brown (22) took the score to 253. Bailey finished with figures of 2-50 being the only other wicket taker.

A tall order for the Haverhill batsmen was made harder when Julian Poole, who looked well at ease with the Woolpit bowlers, drove one to the fielder at cover for 10. Adam Nicholls and Dan Poole then took on the job of getting runs on the board and were making headway until Adam was unfortunate to find himself stumped for 22.

Dan Poole and Martyn Farrant took the attack to Woolpit and the scoring rate was still around six an over but tight bowling and some great leg spin from youngster Brown soon got the Haverhill batsmen into trouble. Martyn chipped a catch back to the bowler for 23, Nigel Proctor struggled to 13 before being stumped off the spin of Brown, Kieron Bailey lasted only a couple of deliveries before Jon Watkins and Russell Davis held a spirited stand of 30 at the end to get the homeside to 193. Woolpit winning by a comfortable 60 runs.
