 General Information

 Micky Rinaldi
Micky Rinaldi

This guy has been with the club since he was a lad. Has seen the good times , bad times and good times again. Great all rounder, one of the leading wicket takers of the club and in the top three run scorers. Brought on these days as a 'special team' bowler for three over bursts, as fitness and stamina becomes an issue in old age.

Mick can still hit the ball with the best of them and bowls at a lively pace.
Has become a strong figure in the future development of the club.
He holds a position on the committee and has helped in ensuring Lashings come to town

(The following stastics are from 1997 to 2005 inclusive. They cover all weekend games for both League and Cup.)

Player Questionnaire:

Full Name: Michael Rinaldi

Date of birth: 08/12/1971

Place of birth: Chigwell, Essex

Left or right handed: Right Handed

Nickname: Anything preceded with the word “fat”

Favourite memory of playing for Haverhill: There have been too many to mention all but a few are,

  • Chasing 144 at Horseheath midweek in 1989 and getting them without losing a wicket. We only had 9 players and only 3 batsmen. I think that was the last time we beat Horseheath.
  • Winning division 5 of the Mick Mcneil league our 1st year back. I knew it was the start of great things.
  • Winning our 1st Two Counties game in Div 4 against Long Melford and realising we would not embarrass ourselves in the division.
  • Watching Luke Youngs and Josh Meekings score loads of runs last year.

Best score for Haverhill: 108

Best bowling figures for Haverhill: It would be unfair to pick out 1 particular performance as pre skiing holiday they were all quite exceptional.

Player at Haverhill who you would most like to have a ice bath with: That’s just wrong but if I had to pick one it would be Jon Watkins because he never showers and it’s Sam I feel sorry for.

Person you would most like to face at Haverhill: Dan Webb – just to see if he does something with his eyes to hypnotize the batsmen as I cannot see how he gets bucket fulls of wickets week in week out. Keep up the good work Dan.

Fav fielding position: Anywhere the ball is not.

Fav hitting zone: Each ball on it’s merits. I prefer to scratch around for 1’s & 2’s than hit.
